During Spring Break Jozsef, Martin and I took a sunrise photo tour of Chợ Lớn, the old Chinese part of Ho Chi Minh City. Our guide Arnaud led us around his favorite haunts, chatting with locals as he encouraged us to playfully take their portraits. He showed me how to use some of the fancy features on my point-and-shoot which resulted in some pretty darn good shots, if I do say so myself.
My partners in crime
Our group of five (we were joined by another expat visiting Ho Chi Minh from Phnom Penh) meandered through an outdoor market, then explored a fascinating building which loomed over the action.
A small pagoda rounded out the sites.
I found out about the tour via a friend and I’m glad I did. Highly recommended.

The lady butcher is my favorite. No, the lady in red. No, shrimp man. No, for sure chicken leg lady with coca cola.

Hi Warren! Nice selection of photos and I’m glad you guys asked me to start the tour before the sunrise so that we enjoyed a great light around the Binh Tay market. Keep shooting!
